Launched with the "NiJam" clash bringing together Nigeria and Jamaica (although Jamaican loyalist preferred to call it "JamNi"). 2004

The 2002 Unity Cup was followed by a second event in 2004, held at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic FC, and featuring Nigeria, Jamaica and The Republic of Ireland.

Again this was a huge success and featured some well-known international musicians. This was yet another fun filled family occassion, notably attended by young and old alike.

Now

Now, as we prepare to reintroduce the Unity Cup, again it promises to be more than just a football tournament. A blend of first-class international football, and a rivalry that extends beyond the field of play between these best of “frenemies”, serenaded by rhythmic tones, musical beats, flavorsome food, smiling fans from a wide demographic, and laughter in celebration of Afro- Caribbean generational contributions to the global sports culture.

The Unity Cup 2025 promises to be an event like no other, showcasing the best of what London as a modern global city has to offer.
